Description	:	Peter (Pete) Reimer was born to Abraham and Margarethe Thiessen Reimer on July 30, 1885 near Beatrice, Neb. He received his elementary education in a rural school near Hoag, Neb., then in the Mennonite Parochial School, and later attended Bethel Academy at North Newton, Kan. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour, and was baptized on his confession of faith on May 23, 1904 in the First Mennonite Church of Beatrice by Elder Gerhart Penner. Read More	Peter (Pete) Reimer was born to Abraham and Margarethe Thiessen Reimer on July 30, 1885 near Beatrice, Neb. He received his elementary education in a rural school near Hoag, Neb., then in the Mennonite Parochial School, and later attended Bethel Academy at North Newton, Kan. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour, and was baptized on his confession of faith on May 23, 1904 in the First Mennonite Church of Beatrice by Elder Gerhart Penner. He was married to Agatha Harms on June 3, 1915. Two children were born into this home. The couple was privileged to observe their golden wedding anniversary in June of 1965. He lived in or near Beatrice with the exception of the years 1920 to 1928, when the family lived near Paso Robles, Calif. where he joined the Willow Creek Mennonite Church. After returning to Beatrice he joined the Beatrice Mennonite Church, where he remained a faithful and active member until his death. He taught Sunday school classes at various times and served as a deacon for six and a half years. During his earlier years he was engaged in farming. He worked in a grain and feed business in California, and since 1928 was in the furniture repairing and upholstering business, in which he was active till the time of his death. He enjoyed comparatively good health until about two years ago when he suddenly became acutely ill, and passed away on May 3, 1966, having reached the age of 80 years, nine months and three days. Survivors include his wife, Agatha; a son, Arnold of Beatrice; a daughter, Anna-Margret (Mrs. Arnold Claassen) of Newton, Kan.; one daughter-in-law; one son-in-law; seven grandchildren; one brother, John T. Reimer of Watrous, Sask., Canada; one sister, Mrs. John Von Riesen of Beatrice; and many other relatives and friends. His parents and nine brothers and sisters preceded him in death. He loved the Lord and gave liberally to the Lord's work out of his limited financial resources, even though it meant doing without some of the material benefits of life. His faith, which was proven by his consistent Christian life, and his intercessory prayers, will long be an inspiration to his children and grandchildren and others who knew him. — The Family.
