Peter Reisdorff, early settler of Butler county, passed away in the David City hospital at 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, after illness of five weeks. His death resulted from complications due to his advanced age. He was in his 84th year. Mr. Reisdorff was born in Sandfiler, Luxemburg, in June, 1838. He was married there to Miss Maggie Homan, and they came to America in 1884, locating in Butler county, Nebraska, on a farm three miles north of David City, which had been their home ever since. A stone mason by trade, Mr. Reisdorff and his brothers had part in laying foundations for many buildings erected in David City, among them the court house, the standpipe the first Methodist church, etc. He was a member of the Catholic church. Surviving Mr. Reisdorff are his wife and eight children and one sister, Mrs. Jacob Hiller, of Hebron. Four children died in infancy. The living children are Mrs. Annie Livingston of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Susie Vise of Boelus, Howard county, Mrs. Mary Ann Giltz, living in Buffalo county, and Mrs. Mary Bartholome, Mrs. Lizzie Medinger, Peter Reisdorff, Nick Reisdorff and John Reisdorff, residing in or near David City. Funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock this (Thursday) morning in St. Mary's Catholic church, David city. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. ______________ February 16, 1922, p. 1, col. 3 Funeral of Peter Reisdorff Funeral services for Peter Reisdorff, who passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, were held in St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, Thursday morning, Feb. 9, at 9:30 o'clock. Rev. Ferdinand Mock, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic church, Luxemburg, conducted the services. John J. Bartholome, Worthy W. Timms, Britten J. Timms and Marvyn J. Timms were the pallbeares. Interment was in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. Practically all of Mr. Reisdorff's relatives living in Nebraska came to attend the funeral.
