Peter was born on September 10, 1901 in the Netherlands to Steffen and Francis (Van Der Laan) Timmer. He attended grade schools in Butler County. Peter was married to Josie Rieman on February 18, 1925 in Waverly, Iowa. Peter worked all his life as a farmer. He was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, Iowa. Peter enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, farming, going to his granddaughter's events, tending livestock and driving tractors. He is survived by his son, Pete and wife Glenda Timmer of Allison, Iowa; granddaughter Randi and husband Rev. Kris Snyder of Hanlontown, Iowa; two sisters: Mattie Van Raden of Allison and Elsena and husband Pete Kramer of Clarksville. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six brothers George, George, Jake, Harm, John and Sander; three sisters: Tish Wilken, Anna Negan, Marie Rieman and one infant sister. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 3, 2003 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison with Rev. Jerry Laehn and Associate in Ministry Peg Torrin. Special music was provided by organist, Vivian Green accomp-anying the duet of Glenda Timmer and Randi Snyder. Pallbearers were Gary Riles, Bennie Fank, Richard Ubben, Jon Rieman, Merlyn Rieman and Burdean Brockway. Final resting place was in the Lynwood Cemetery in Clarksville with Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
