Peter married Sarah Ivanovna Rudometkin on 05 Jul 1914 in San Francisco, CA. Peter's port of entry was Philadelphia, not Galveston. He arrived under the name of Pawel Bogdanoff, March 23,1912, on the SS Prinz Oskar, out of Hamburg. The only reference to a birthplace is Kars, Russia. Ship manifests on file locally for Philadelphia only go up through 1906. However, knowing the arrival data, you can fill out a form (available from the National Archives) requesting a copy of the relevant manifest pages wich should provide more details. Peter and Sarah apparently lived in Seattle prior to moving to San Francisco in 1919. Sarah Bogdanoff (aka Sarah Sascha Rudametkin) arrived in Galveston June 21, 1912 on the SS Hannover which sailed from Breman May 30, 1912. That manifest is on file locally and I have viewed it personally. Although born in Erevan, it appears that the family's last residence was the village of Nikitina, Delizahn District (NE of Erevan ============================ From the San Francisco Examiner, Monday, February 6, 1967, page 50: "BOGDANOFF, Peter Z. - Feb. 5, 1967; Peter Z., beloved husband of Sarah Bogdanoff; loving father of John Bogdanoff, Mrs. Nadia Mackshen (Mackshanoff), Mrs. Vera Danz, Mrs. Martha Schelegle, Mrs. Katherine Stamer and Mrs. Olive Palmer; survived by eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A member of Millmen's Union Local No. 42 and past president of Russian Molokan Church. Friends may attend services Wednesday, 1 p.m. Russian Molokan Church, 841 Carolina St.; Daphne San Francisco Funeral Service, Directors." ============================ From: San Francisco Chronicle, Tues. February 7, 1967 Peter Z. Bogdanoff, a leader of a small Russian Molokan Protestant church colony on Potrero Hill and known affectionately as "Uncle Pete" to its members, died at French Hospital Sunday. He was 71. Mr. Bogdanoff served, in 1962, as president of the Molokan Church here. A native of Russia, he settled in San Francisco in 1912. He was a memeber of the Millmen's Union, AFL-CIO. Survivors include his wife, Sarah; a son, John of Los Angeles and five daughters, Nadia Mackshanoff, Vera Danz, Martha Schelegle, Katherine Stamer and Olive Palmer, all of San Francisco. Eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. Services will be held at the Molokan Church under direction of Daphne's Funeral Service. Burial will be at the Russian Sectarian Cemetary, Colma.
