Boles of Cusick, Washington was born in Jerome, Idaho on August 5, 1933 to Walter and Suzie (Hall) Boles and passed away peacefully on December 12, 2010 at Newport Community Hospital. Boles of Cusick, Washington was born in Jerome, Idaho on August 5, 1933 to Walter and Suzie (Hall) Boles and passed away peacefully on December 12, 2010 at Newport Community Hospital. He is a lifelong resident of the area and will be missed by many friends and family members. Don entered the Army after leaving high school and spent 4 years in the service as a cook. He spent many years logging with Willard Newman, worked at Diamond Match Mill, was a jailer and deputy for the Pend Oreille County Sheriff's office and was the town Marshall in Cusick. He was a wonderful father and loved his life and his family. He would organize family picnics and he also loved his road trips! He would sit around and all of a sudden get up and say to the family; "pack up some clothing and food; we are going on a trip!" The family would then head off to Oregon to see his sister or to Seattle to visit friends. He had a true passion for fishing and hunting and he loved sharing stories about his adventures in the great outdoors with his grandchildren. Don is survived by his Wife; Margaret Boles, Sons; Don (and Kay) Boles, Richard (and Rose) Boles, Daughters; Vick (and Terry) Radan, Elizabeth (and John) Anderson, Mary and David Riski and Lori Campbell, Sisters; May Ward, Madge Lauzon, Ellen (Lauzon) Alfred, Mary (Lauzon) Fredrick and Rose (Lauzon) Boyd. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, one Brother; Benny Boles and Daughter; Madge Marie and Son in Law; Jr. Campbell. A Memorial Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11am at Newport Cemetery. Sherman Knapp Funeral Home and Crematory in Newport is in charge of arrangements.
