Donald Moore will arrive in Reynolds on Friday, November 12, at 3:45 P.M. Services will be conducted from the Methodist church at Reynolds on Sunday, November 14. Pfc. Moore was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Moore, the grandson of Mrs. Charlotte Moore and brother of Dorothy Tigler of Remington. Pfc. Donald Moore entered the service from Reynolds, Indiana in September 1944 and was killed at Darmstadt, Germany on March 24, 1945. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at Monticello. --------------------------- (*Wolcott Beacon - White Co., IN - April 19, 1945) DONALD MOORE DIES IN ACTION Mr. and Mrs. Glen Brown of Reynolds received the tragic message that the latter's son, Pvt. Donald Lowell Moore, 19 years old, was killed in action in Germany on March 24th. The last letter the parents had received from the young man was written on March 19th on his 19th birthday anniversary. He said he was still in France but was still traveling. He was serving in an infantry unit. Pvt. Moore had been across for less than a month as he had landed in England only on March 6th. The young man entered the service of his country on September 20, 1944, spent 30 days at Camp Atterbury and from there was assigned to training at Camp Croft, SC. He arrived home on a week's furlough on February 14th, before leaving for overseas duty. Pvt. Moore was born near Wolcott, and lived in this community until three years ago. Since which time he had lived at Reynolds. The young man was employed by his step-father, Glen Brown, feed store operator, in whose home he had lived since he was four years old. He was engaged in delivering feed over the county until he entered the armed forces. Surviving are his mother, formerly Anne L. Moore; his step-father, Glen Brown; and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Tigler, of Remington and Mrs. Maxine Bufkin, of Rensselaer. He was the grandson of Andrew Nelson of Wolcott.
