Description	:	Herbert Eldon Snyder, 79, of Fostoria, died at 11:01 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2001 at Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born July 1, 1922, in Alvada to Herbert E. and Ida (Pockmire) Snyder. Both are deceased. He married Helen Blanche Spiers Aug. 20, 1945. She died Jan. 31, 2001. Survivors include a son, Dennis W. Snyder of Houston, Texas; a brother, Donald Snyder of Port Charlotte, Fla., and a sister, Ellene Myers of Fostoria. He retired as a World War II Army veteran having served in the 78 Infantry Division in Europe and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Military Order of the Cootie, Fostoria Amvets Post 69, Fosstoria Eagles Aerie 430, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1567. He was a licensed private pilot and a member of Experiemental Aircraft Association. Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria. The Rev. Paul E. Myers will be the officiant. Military graveside services will be conducted by United Veterans of Fostoria in Biglick Cemetery in Biglick Township, Hancock County. Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fostoria Sharing Kitchen in care of Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830.
