COLE 36, Wabash, died of head injuries received when a fighter plane struck a crippled bomber at an Okinawa airfield July 30, 1945. Pfc Cole was on duty at the time and died as the result of bomb blast injuries. Born in Somerset Aug 20, 1908, he later moved to Wabash where he was employed at the Spencer Cardinal factory and belonged to the First United Brethren church.
