Description	:	Phebe Ellen Mead, second child of Mary Adaline and Harry Jackson Mead, was born in Muscatine, Iowa, December 20, 1868. At the age of 6 years she moved with her parents to Leon, Iowa, and a year later they moved to Clarinda, where she grew to womanhood. At the age of 14 years she united with the Methodist church and later transferred her membership to the Baptist church where she was a faithful worker until her health failed. Read More	Phebe Ellen Mead, second child of Mary Adaline and Harry Jackson Mead, was born in Muscatine, Iowa, December 20, 1868. At the age of 6 years she moved with her parents to Leon, Iowa, and a year later they moved to Clarinda, where she grew to womanhood. At the age of 14 years she united with the Methodist church and later transferred her membership to the Baptist church where she was a faithful worker until her health failed. She taught school 22 years in Page and Taylor counties. In 1918 she was united in marriage to William Hembree, who passed away in 1922. In 1928 she was married to J.E. Sollars, who, together with her father, mother, two sisters, Mrs Nellie McNutt and Mrs Cora Hazelton and one brother, George Mead, have preceded her in death. She had been in failing health for several months and quietly died on Wednesday evening, Jan 21, 1948, at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 1 day. She leaves a brother, Rev Fred A.
