Description	:	Phebe Haney Mason Hopkins was the daughter of Jesse H. Mason and Eltin Landrum. She married Edie Kyle Hopkins May 12, 1867 in Farmington, Missouri. Phoebe and Edie had 9 children. Her obituary reads: "Phoebe Haney Mason was born June 28, 1848 (my note: her marker says she was born in 1847 and died in 1913, however, her death certificate states she was born in 1848 and died in 1914), near Farmington and passed away of uremic poisoning at her home in the south part of town at 9:45 o'clock on Friday night, February 13, 1914, aged 63 years, 7... Read More	Phebe Haney Mason Hopkins was the daughter of Jesse H. Mason and Eltin Landrum. She married Edie Kyle Hopkins May 12, 1867 in Farmington, Missouri. Phoebe and Edie had 9 children. Her obituary reads: "Phoebe Haney Mason was born June 28, 1848 (my note: her marker says she was born in 1847 and died in 1913, however, her death certificate states she was born in 1848 and died in 1914), near Farmington and passed away of uremic poisoning at her home in the south part of town at 9:45 o'clock on Friday night, February 13, 1914, aged 63 years, 7 months and 20 days. The deceased was the daughter of the late Jesse and Elton Landrum Mason, pioneer settlers in St. Francois county, moving here from Tennessee when this county was practically a wilderness. On May 12, 1867, she was united in marriage with E.K. Hopkins, who, with seven of their nine children survive to mourn the passing of a devoted companion and mother. The surviving children are: Thomas J. Hopkins, of Biggers, Ark., Chas. L. Hopkins, Ella (Mrs. G.A. Miller), James W., Mary (Mrs. Rudy Wood), of Farmington, Mo., Geo. E., of Techumshe, Okla., Miss Stella of Farmington, all of whom were with their mother at the close of her life except Geo. E. who was unable to come. She also leaves twenty-four grandchildren. Two children preceded the mother in death, one in infancy another at the age of six years. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. M. A. Sebastian, of Farmington. Her parents died when she was only 8 years of age after which she lived with her aunt, the late Mrs. Wm. Ward, until her marriage. Mrs. Hopkins lived all her life in this vicinity except nine years, during which time the family were residents of Nebraska. She was almost a life long member of the Methodist church and was devoted to the church and the Christian life. She had been sick for about 20 years. Seven years ago she underwent a serious surgical operation."
