She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burlingame and was born in the state of Rhode Island, August 31st, 1812. She was married to Asahel Aldrich, of Massachusetts, March 6th, 1831. They moved to Marion in 1865, where they continued to reside until their death. Mr. Aldrich died April 15, 1890. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burlingame and was born in the state of Rhode Island, August 31st, 1812. She was married to Asahel Aldrich, of Massachusetts, March 6th, 1831. They moved to Marion in 1865, where they continued to reside until their death. Mr. Aldrich died April 15, 1890. They had nine children, four of whom are living: Nelson and Elmira Smith, of Marion, Emma F. Stevens, of La Fayette and Ellen P. Ambrose of Omaha, Neb. They have 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Mrs. Aldrich has one sister who survives her, residing in Pasco, Rhode Island. Mrs. Aldrich with her husband united with the S.D.A. church in 1863, and after coming to Marion had their membership transferred to the S.D.A. church in Marion, but some years before her husband's death, for reasons satisfactory to themselves, the ceased to attend this church. Mrs. Aldrich has been an invalid for many years, but a meek and patient sufferer, in the words of the poet "a calm and thankful heart from every murmur free." The last words she was heard to utter were the first of the 23rd Psalm, "The Lord is my Shepherd." The funeral service was held at the house, conducted by Rev. Alex S. Marshall assisted by Rev. Seaton
