March 20, were held at the Bishop Funeral Home Tuesday conducted by a former pastor friend Rev. Forest Perkins of Dallas, Iowa. March 20, were held at the Bishop Funeral Home Tuesday conducted by a former pastor friend Rev. Forest Perkins of Dallas, Iowa. Fellow members of the Nevada Masonic lodge were present at the services. Interment was at Nevada, Iowa in the family plot where his father was buried 12 years ago. He attended public school at Ottumwa and subsequently Parsons academy at Fairfield, later living in the vicinity of Ames and Nevada until about the age of 26 when he went east and took up banking being cashier of Naugatuck Bank and Trust Co. of Naugatuck and vice president of Bankers Capitol Corp. of New York. On Feb. 11, 1925 he was united in marriage to Mildred H. Cooper of Des Moines, Iowa. Into these six years of beautiful wedded life bloomed a precious little life Barbara Helen June 21, 1928. Love, peace and understanding reigned in this little family till God called him for higher work. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. J. E. Gunder, a sister, Miss Helen Gunder and Howard Gunder of New York City and Herman Gunder of Meridan, Conn. All were present at his last illness but were unable to be present at interment except Howard. In addition to his uncle Crim of Colo he leaves Uncles C. A. and F. E. Gunder of New Salem, North Dakota and three aunts, Jennie Zimmerman of Des Moines, Mrs. Cooper of Connecticut, and Mrs. Dormody of Stewartville, Minn., and host of cousins throughout the family. He was a member of the Masonic order A. F. and A. M. lodge at Naugatuck, Conn. With the passing of this beautiful life the world has lost a noble soldier. His cheery smile and optimistic disposition won him a host of friends. He was cordial and hospitable to all but especially threw a glowing warmth over his home and loved ones where it seems nothing but saddness and emptiness have entered with his leaving.
