Description	:	PHILIP ALLEN WEBER was a "special" child who was born at 11:35 a.m. in Harrison County, Iowa at the home of his parents, James LaVerne "Verne" and Flora Belle "Flo" (Gorham) Weber, on December 20, 1938. Read More	PHILIP ALLEN WEBER was a "special" child who was born at 11:35 a.m. in Harrison County, Iowa at the home of his parents, James LaVerne "Verne" and Flora Belle "Flo" (Gorham) Weber, on December 20, 1938. Dr. W. W. Walvaard was the delivering physician. Philip weighed 9 lbs 4 oz. (Source- Record of Births, Harrison County, Iowa at page 181) In 1947 Vern & Flo and brother,Philip, welcomed Terry into the family. Through the years, Philip lived with his family in Iowa, California, Arkansas and Texas. When the family lived in Heber Springs, Arkansas Philip raised chickens. He sold the eggs from the chickens. The worst part of this venture was that the rooster chased him. He DID NOT like that. In 1989 Philip's father died. Philip missed him very much. After Vern's death, Philip and his mother moved from Texas back to Dunlap, Iowa. Philip quickly made many new friends and he enjoyed visits from his cousins. Philip was a hard worker. He helped his mother clear the dinner table and wash and dry dishes. For a time, he collected the aluminum beverage cans, that can be redeemed in Iowa for five cents each, to earn extra income for things such as gifts. He especially loved to dance. At family weddings and other celebrations Philip did not sit on the sidelines.....he lined up dances with his cousins. He had one word for this .. "FUN!!" Philip had a terrific memory. He recited birth dates and names of people from the past. His mother said, one day while watching the TV show Jeopardy the subject was birds. He listened to the song of a bird and correctly identified it as a mourning dove. He was a gentle and loving person. When you were around you were apt to be a recipient of one of his "bear hugs." In early 2003 Philip and his mother moved to the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center. His mother died there on May 10, 2003. Philip continued to reside there. He helped the staff pass out song books, bingo cards, etc. He really enjoyed the bingo. On February 5, 2010 Philip died at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center. He was 7l years 1 month and 16 days old. He is survived by his brother Terry Weber and wife, Vonda; two nephews, Aaron and Andrew; and many, many cousins and friends.
