Description	:	Philip B. Hoffman, 74, 1903 S. Cedar St., died Thursday at a local hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Hoffman was born Dec. 26, 1902, at Des Moines. He moved to Sioux City in 1916, where he attended Central High School. He married Estella P. Lillard Sept. 5, 1925, at Sioux City. She died Aug. 29, 1977. He moved to Sioux City in 1916, where he attended Central High School. He married Estella P. Lillard Sept. 5, 1925, at Sioux City. She died Aug. 29, 1977. Mr. Hoffman was owner of Kemp Service Co., which he operated for 56 years. He was a member of Morningside Presbyterian Church, a former church trustee and elder, and was selected in 1975 as the church's Presbyterian of the Year. He was a 50-year member of Morningside Lodge 615 AF-AM and a member of Sioux City Consistory, Abu-Beker foot patrol, Royal Order of Jesters and the Morningside chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member and past president of Sioux City Rotary Club, East End Development Association and past president and charter member of Sioux City Business Leaders Association. He was a past YMCA board member and served on the executive board of Sgt. Floyd Council, Boy Scouts of America, receiving the Silver Beaver award. He was active with the regional and statewide Truckers' Association. Survivors include a son John (Jack) of Seal Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas J. (Marilyn) Kilgore of Pueblo, Colo., and Mrs. Betty Lindgren of Sioux City, and eight grandchildren. Arrangements are pending at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.
