He was born on Aug. 2, 1921, in Chrisville, Md., and was a son of the late Ernest Wallace Mims and Ruby Riggin Mims. Mr. Mims was a graduate of New Market High School and was a v e t -eran of the U.S. A r m y. He owned and operated Mimsco Steep Corp. and A&A Sto-Away. Campbell of Boyce, and Margaret Burke of Rileyville; his ex-wife, Pauline Mims of Lorton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Philip Brooks Mims; and a brother, Thomas Brooks Mims. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Laura Stratton. Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery with military honors by the VFW Comer-Jones Post 621 of Luray.
