Born April 28, 1925 in Parnell, Missouri, he was the son of Charles and Emma Keever Spire. He married Mercedes Wilmes on February 11, 1953 in Maryville. Read More	Philip Harold Spire, 86, Maryville, Missouri died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Living Community, St. Joseph, Missouri. Born April 28, 1925 in Parnell, Missouri, he was the son of Charles and Emma Keever Spire. He married Mercedes Wilmes on February 11, 1953 in Maryville. He was a graduate of Parnell High School and was employed by the Carpenter's Local Union #110, St. Joseph. Mr. Spire was a carpenter and farmer. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St Gregory's Catholic Church, Elk's Lodge, Eagle's Lodge, and the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, all of Maryville. Surviving are his wife Mercedes Spire of their home, Maryville, son Mark (Delores) Spire, Bedford, IA, daughters, Joan (Fred) Contreras, Overland Park, KS and Beth (Wes) Parker of Maryville, MO, one sister Helen Farnan, Richmond, MO, five grandchildren: Travis Spire, Justin Valentine, Wesley Parker Jr., Colton Parker, and Beth Meek, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son James Spire, brother, William "Victor" Spire, sisters, Anna Goetz, Edith Shaw, Esther Gaukel, Faye Holmes, and Beth Komer, and son in law Craig Corrough. A Family Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Monday at the Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville. A Legion of Mary Rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church followed by a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Maryville. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Maryville, with military services conducted by James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100.
