Description	:	Philip Morast was born March 7, 1898 near Kronthal, the son of Johannes and Elizabeth Wiedrich Morast. He was raised in Mercer County, where he lived his entire life. On March 19, 1919, he married Emma Scheid at Hazen. The farmed northwest of Hazen until 1951, when they moved to Hazen. Philip worked as an insurance agent of NWGE Mutual and also continued to farm. He retired in 1962. Following Emma's death on August 15, 1983, he lived at the Pioneer Park Retirement Home in Hazen until 1989 and was then a resident of the Beulah... Read More	Philip Morast was born March 7, 1898 near Kronthal, the son of Johannes and Elizabeth Wiedrich Morast. He was raised in Mercer County, where he lived his entire life. On March 19, 1919, he married Emma Scheid at Hazen. The farmed northwest of Hazen until 1951, when they moved to Hazen. Philip worked as an insurance agent of NWGE Mutual and also continued to farm. He retired in 1962. Following Emma's death on August 15, 1983, he lived at the Pioneer Park Retirement Home in Hazen until 1989 and was then a resident of the Beulah Community Nursing Home. He enjoyed singing as well as playing the harmonica for family and friends. He was an active member of St Matthew Lutheran Church at Hazen and had served on various committees of the church. Mr Morast also served on various school boards, the ASCS and the farmers Union Board. Mr Morast , 94, died January 16, 1992. He was preceded in death by his wife, five brothers and three sisters.
