Description	:	Phil Hoffa drowned while swimming in a deep pool of back water from the river which is in the Lemburg pasture, north of Mr. Sander's house, Sunday afternoon. Phil Hoffa was probably seized with a cramp and drowned. There were several other men with him at the time, but all efforts to save his life were futile and the body was in the water about two hours before being rescued. News of the accident was phoned over the country and autos hurried from St. Paul and other places and a large crowd gathered at the scene. ... Dr. Pedersen was called from Dannebrog, but of course life was extinct before the body was found. The remains were taken to the home of his brother, Wm. Hoffa, and the funeral held at the M. E. Church in St. Paul on Wednesday. Deceased was a bachelor about fifty-six years of age and had lived in this community for a number of years. He was of a quiet disposition and well liked by all who knew him and will be sadly missed among his many friends. Except for the one brother and family who live here, we understand that his other relatives live in Illinois. We join hosts of friends in extending sympathy.
