Description	:	Son of Henry and Hannah S. Sones Stevenson (correct spelling), of Davidson Township, near Sonestown, Sullivan County, PA. Was a 23-year old cabinet maker living in Hughesville, Lycoming County, PA when the Civil War broke out in 1861. Enlisted 23 Dec 1861 in Captain Samuel Bryan's Company B, Eighty-fourth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers. A good soldier and veteran of many battles, Stevenson was taken prisoner at the Battle of Deep Bottom, VA on 16 Aug 1864 and died in captivity at Salisbury prisoner of war compound on 7 January 1865.
