Philip served in the Korean War. ----- Pilip's parents were: Curtis Maxie Hibdon 1912 – 1987 Stella "Marie" Kelly 1914 – 1990 His tombstone indicate that he served in the Air Force as A2C. He was married to Pat (maiden name unknown). Fatally injured were Phillip Hildon, 23, of Versailles and a man identified as James Richard Stemmons, about 30. Their deaths were the forty-second and forty-third on highways in the 13-county Troop F area this years. Last year at this time the death toll stood at 54. ... Hibdon was killed at about 4 p.m. in an accident on Route 17, about three miles north of Tuscumbia. Hibdon, an employee of the Department of Corrections, was traveling north in an auto reportedly owned by Joe Alexander of Iberia, when he attempted to round a sharp turn too fast. He lost control of the car which ran off of an embankment and overturned. Hibdon was thrown from the car and crushed beneath the vehicle as it rolled down the hill. His body was found about 10 feet from the car by SPC4 John Traub, PFC Francis J. Zajdel, and Charles W. McQueen, all servicemen stationed at Fort Leonard Wood. The three told the State Highway Patrol that they noticed the wrecked car stopped and found Hibdon's body. They said Hibdon was still alive when they found him, but died shortly after. Hibdon is survived by his widow of Versailles; three children; his father, Curtis Hibdon of California, and his mother Mrs. Marie Lee, Versailles. The body was received by a Versailles funeral home. . . . " Jefferson City News and Tribune Sunday, July 27, 1958 Jefferson City, Missouri His death certificate indicates that he died 3 miles north of Tuscumbia in Miller Co, MO on July 26, 1958. He was 23 years old. His wife, Pat Hibdon, was the informant on his death certificate.
