Description	:	The following obituary was provided by FAG contributor Aunt Susie (#48754276) Obit from Seward Journal 9/22/1921: Philip L. Rasel, a son of Jacob Rasel and his wife Magdalena, nee Heuser, was born Nov. 7, 1859, at Eschbach, Germany. Soon after his birth, he was baptized by the Rev. Theo. Stickrath and at the age of 14 years confirmed by the Rev. Carl Bickel. In the spring of 1881, 22 years old, he emigrated to the United States where he lived at Belleview, Ohio; Chicago, Ill.; Clarinda, Iowa; and in Gage Co., Webstr Co., and Seward Co., Nebr. Stickrath and at the age of 14 years confirmed by the Rev. Carl Bickel. In the spring of 1881, 22 years old, he emigrated to the United States where he lived at Belleview, Ohio; Chicago, Ill.; Clarinda, Iowa; and in Gage Co., Webstr Co., and Seward Co., Nebr. He was married twice, first to Miss Clara Meyer who died Febr. 15, 1892, and the second time to Mrs. Anna Maier, nee Spaeth. This last union was blessed with 2 children. Since Oct. 7, 1900, he was a voting member of Immanuel's Ev. Luth. Congregation at Staplehurst, Nebr., faithfully using the means of grace. Saturday, Sept. 10, 1921,he died from dropsy his age being 61 years, 10 months, and 3 days. He is survived by the bereaved widow, 2 daughters, 1 step-son, 1 step daughter-in-law, 1 sister, 1 daughter-in-law, 5 brothers-in-law, 6 sisters-in-law, and other relatives. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Rev. A. Schormann officiating.
