Pascoe Tuesday morning, September 8, much sorrow was felt by relatives and friends of this excellent woman. It was known that the chances for recovery were very slight but there was always the hope that she might be able to again return to her home circle. Her death occurred at the St. Anthony hospital, where she had been under treatment and underwent an operation for her malady. Mrs. Pascoe, whose maiden name was Philippa A. Williams, was born in Benton, Wis., February 2, 1854. She received her early education in the district schools and later attended the first state normal school at Plattville, Wis. On January 11, 1877, she was united in marriage to J.B. Pascoe, with whom she moved during the spring of 1878 to Carroll county. To them were born four sons, R.N., of Rockwell City, H.R., J.H. and J.A., all of this city or county and all of whom with her husband survive. In her early girlhood she became an earnest Christian and united with the Methodist church in the activities and welfare of which she has ever since been intensely and loyally interested. She was one of the organizers of the Beulah congregation, of which her literary taste, her ability as a teacher and her intense interest in the things really worth while, made her in those early years a valuable and efficient member. During the last many months physical infirmities have interfered with her active participation in church and social affairs. But her interest continued unabated while her kindly sympathy and unfailing patience and cheerfulness endeared her to all who knew her. During her last sickness the many messages received from friends and acquaintances of former years, relative to the influence of her life. In those early times as well as in later years, bore gratifying and illuminating evidence as to the character of the influence which she wielded. Several months ago she expressed herself as feeling that her life's work had been accomplished, and those left behind, to whom now, her life will continue to be an inspiration and a beautiful memory, feel that she might also have said "I have fought a good fight. I have finished the course." Funeral services will he held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church.
