Following the service he farmed with his parents in Polk County. On October 6, 1973 he was united in marriage to Sophia Placzek at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Phillip worked for B - D Construction for many years until retirement. He was a member of St. Anthony Church and the Holy Name Society.
