Description	:	Phillip Louis Krogmeier was born on July 20, 1939 at Fort Madison, Iowa, the youngest child of Alois and Elva Krogmeier. He attended kindergarten at Sacred Heart School in Fort Madison and finished grade school at Holyoke, when the family moved to Colorado in 1946. Phillip graduated from St. Patrick's Academy in Sidney, Nebraska and entered the seminary at Conception, Missouri, only to find that the priesthood was not to be his vocation. He then moved to San Jose, California, where he met and married Lynn Spangler, they were blest with a daughter, Carolyn Lee in 1969.... Read More	Phillip Louis Krogmeier was born on July 20, 1939 at Fort Madison, Iowa, the youngest child of Alois and Elva Krogmeier. He attended kindergarten at Sacred Heart School in Fort Madison and finished grade school at Holyoke, when the family moved to Colorado in 1946. Phillip graduated from St. Patrick's Academy in Sidney, Nebraska and entered the seminary at Conception, Missouri, only to find that the priesthood was not to be his vocation. He then moved to San Jose, California, where he met and married Lynn Spangler, they were blest with a daughter, Carolyn Lee in 1969. He worked as a purchaser for IBM until a tragic auto accident nearly took his life. With extensive brain and head injuries, he underwent many months of surgery's and recuperation. He continued to try to work for Litton Industries and later Alaskan Copper also as a purchaser, but again found he was unable to continue. After all of this, he had to take physical disability retirement. Phillip moved to Seattle, Washington. However he was not one to sit and do nothing. He started helping the elderly widows in the neighborhood doing odd jobs and gardening and generally caring for them. They came to be his second family. One of his last concerns was about who would take care of them now. Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Elva Krogmeier; brothers, Tom, Gene, Vince and Joseph and sister, Betty. Phillip is survived by his daughter, Carolyn and her husband, Craig Sherratt; grandchildren, Stephanie and Matthew; brother, Bill Krogmeier and wife, Elvira; sisters, Shirley Krogmeier and Dolores Haskell; sister-in-laws, Mary Krogmeier and Jackie Krogmeier along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The Rosary was held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. and the Funeral Mass on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. both at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Holyoke, Colorado with Father William Jungman officiating. Interment followed at the Holyoke Cemetery in Holyoke, Colorado. Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
