Maquire officiating. Mr. Gaubatz was born November 20, 1911, at Steamboat Rock, Iowa, the son of Jacob and Dorothy Gaubatz. He had been a resident of the Dougherty vicinity for the past 26 years. Maquire officiating. Mr. Gaubatz was born November 20, 1911, at Steamboat Rock, Iowa, the son of Jacob and Dorothy Gaubatz. He had been a resident of the Dougherty vicinity for the past 26 years. He was married to Agnes Logan at Dougherty in 1941, and they made their home on a farm south of Dougherty. Surviving are his wife, Agnes, a nephew, Jerry Kaplan, who made his home with the family since he was an infant, his mother, Mrs. Jacob Gaubatz, Steamboat Rock, and 4 brothers Pete Gaubatz, Steamboat rock; Jack Gaubatz, Rockwell; Fred and Henry Gaubatz, Dougherty; and 4 sisters, Christine Zielske, Steamboat Rock; Mrs. Clyde (Sue) Lawler, Chicago; Mrs. M. J. (Margaret) McLaughlin, Mason City; and Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) McCauley, Mason City. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Gaubatz was a member of the K.C. Council of Mason City, and St. Patrick’s Church at Dougherty. The Rosary will be said at the Gaubatz farm residence at 9 p.m. Tuesday. The body will lie in state at the home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Dougherty. The Colonial Funeral Home is in charge. Mason City Globe Gazette, June 26, 1951
