Description	:	Mrs. John McGeeney, 68, died a week ago today at her home in Lillis. Philomena Kriley was born at Butler, Penn., on April [March] 10, 1872 and when still a young girl came with her parents to a new home at St. Bridget. In 1893 she was united in marriage with John McGeeney in the Catholic Church at St. Bridget, in which community they lived for several years, later moving to Lillis which has been their home for more that 30 years. She became ill last October and had been confined to her bed since then, death coming as... Read More	Mrs. John McGeeney, 68, died a week ago today at her home in Lillis. Philomena Kriley was born at Butler, Penn., on April [March] 10, 1872 and when still a young girl came with her parents to a new home at St. Bridget. In 1893 she was united in marriage with John McGeeney in the Catholic Church at St. Bridget, in which community they lived for several years, later moving to Lillis which has been their home for more that 30 years. She became ill last October and had been confined to her bed since then, death coming as a relief from her suffering. For a number of years before becoming ill, she did practical nursing in which work she was skilled, and in which capacity she ministered in many homes is Marshall county and vicinity. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society. She is survives by her husband, five daughters, Mrs. John Burton of Frankfort; Mrs. Lawrence Noud of Lillis; Mrs. Ed Hayes of Kansas City; Mrs. Francis Savago of Corning; Miss Frances of the home and six sons. James of Axtell; William of the home; Lawrence of Emmett; Bernard of California; Charles of Lillis and Harold of Kansas City. One child, a daughter, died in infancy. Her mother, Mrs. Mary Kriley, age 91 years, of Stockton also survives and came to attend the funeral. Also surviving are five brothers, three sisters and a number of grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Saturday. Rev. Wm. Leobeck officiating. Active Pallbearers were five sons, William, James, Lawrence, Charles and Harold McGeeney and Gerald McGeeney, a grandson.
