Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School. Later, she attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, where she graduated with a degree in elementary education She married Galen E. Miller on July 9, 1925 in Spencer. They continued to live in Spencer, where she taught for 35 years in the local and independent school system. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Mission. She also served as former president and secretary of African Violet Club in Spencer. After retirement she continued to tutor students She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and three brothers Spencer Daily Reporter, Spencer, Clay County, Iowa September 22, 2001, Saturday
