She was born in Kinsman, OH, the third of four children born to Byron and Pansy (Farance) Kisamore. Read More	Phyllis Carol (Kisamore) Hyatt, a 54-year resident of Stevens County, passed away in Colville, WA on Aug. 5, 2014, at the age of 79. She was born in Kinsman, OH, the third of four children born to Byron and Pansy (Farance) Kisamore. In 1949, the family relocated from Williamsfield, OH to Lewiston, ID, where she graduated from Lewiston High School in 1953. There, she met her future husband, John R. Hyatt. They married on March 28, 1954, while John was on leave from the U.S. Army. Together they returned to Ft. Hood, Killeen, TX, where John was an aide-de-camp, and Phyllis also an assistant, to two Major Generals and their families. After John's stint in the military, the couple returned to Idaho, where Phyllis supported John's endeavors to obtain his Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID. In 1960, John's teaching career brought them to the communities of Northport, Kettle Falls, and Colville, where they raised their family. Throughout her life, Phyllis was employed in office work as a secretary, bookkeeper, and notary public. In her later years, she was employed at Hewescraft Marine Company as a materials coordinator and forklift operator. Phyllis loved hard work and was able to split, haul, chop, and stack over twelve cord of wood for the winter in her mid-seventies. She loved her yard and the wild animals that made their appearances. She enjoyed tennis, league bowling, and softball – proudly playing until over the age of fifty. Until last year, she turned cartwheels every year on her birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1998; a daughter, Melissa Ann, in 1966; her parents; and a sister, Aloha Fobes. She is survived by her children, Linda Cancel, Laurens, SC; and Donald Hyatt, Coquille, OR and their families, including five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her brother, Donald Kisamore of Priest River, ID; her sister, Helen Pestana, of Valleyford, WA; sister-in-law Rose Defenbach of Boise, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at 11:00 am, at the Meyers Falls Cemetery in Kettle Falls, WA. If one wishes, memorial donations may be given to any local organization that cares for animals.
