She was a long-time member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and sang in the church choir for 26 years. Phyllis was an avid quilter and was known for her signature pattern, "Phyllis' Fancies". Phyllis was born on September 23, 1928 in Harrison County, Indiana to the late Edmund Benjamin and Jessie Irene (Mosier) Fessel. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Fessel and her sister, Catherine Uhl. She is survived by her husband, Alvin L. Leidolf of 62 years; daughters, Suzan Didat and her husband, Regis of Floyds Knobs, Jill Fischer and her husband, David of Georgetown, Indiana, Elaine Davis and her husband, Allan of Greenville, Indiana, Emily Lundy and her husband, Mark of Greenville, Indiana; sons, John L. Leidolf of Georgetown, Indiana and Roger D. Leidolf of Floyds Knobs; sister, Frances Henley; and grandchildren, Regina and Rachel Didat, Justin (Emily) Leidolf and Jena Leidolf, Courtney (Barrett) Brutscher, Lindsey Fischer, Drew and Paige Davis, Ross, Olivia, and Sarah Lundy. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Generations Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A rosary service will be held at 4 PM Wednesday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery.
