Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Oct 8, 1937 - pg. 1 Phyllis Elaine Johnson Phyllis Elaine Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Johnson, was born June 29, 1925, at Fairfield, Nebraska and passed away September 30, 1937 at the age of 12 year, 3 months and one day. The life of little Phyllis was short, but it was a blessing to all whom it touched, She was a bright and cheerful child, having attained the seventh grade in school, kind, obedient and loving. She cheered the hearts of those around her by her glad "good morning," and her happy smile. Her little prayers given in the family circle, expressed her love for her Heavenly Father where Jesus is waiting. In the land where flowers bloom forever, she waits for those who mourn; her mother, her father, two brothers, Dale and Delbert, and many relatives and friends. Some times we may wonder just why those so young must be called away and yet somehow we feel that whether old or young, when we have filled our mission in our pilgrimage on earth we will be called home to our reward. Let us pray God that her life was not spent in vain. We need not question her condition or place in the "Other Land". Therefore we may look forward to the time when if we have been found faithful we may meet her in the land where there is no parting. "God wanted her here where His little ones meet," Said the children up in heaven; "She will play with us in the golden street; She has grown too fair, she has grown too sweet For the earth we used to live in; She needed the sunshine, this dear little girl, That glides this side of the gates of pearl," Said the children up in heaven. The services were held in the Christian church (sic) at Fairfield in charge of Mr. Cecil V. Smith, pastor of the Christian Church at Edgar, at 2:30 o'clock Sunday, October 3. The songs were rendered by a quartette of young ladies, Miss Pauline Kriutzfield, Miss Maxine Anderson, Miss Gladys Kyne and Miss Gladys Lewis singing "Jesus Loves Me" and "Under His Wing," Miss Kriutzfield sang as a solo "Good Night and Good Morning." They were accompanied by Mrs. Ralph Kissinger at the piano. Four little girls acted as flower bearers, Leona Schliep, Dorothy Selby, Betty Swanson and Geraldine Hoevet. Six young men served as pallbearers Royal Woods, Donald Chapman, Donald Hart, Charles Selby, Arthur Illingworth and Robert Peterson. Interment was in the Edgar Cemetery.
