Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for Phyllis will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Henke was born on January 20, 1930, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Steve and Erna (Pagel) Evans. On September 5, 1948, Phyllis was united in marriage to Walter Henke at the Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine. Prior to moving to Missouri, she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the couples club of Zion Lutheran Church. In 1970, Phyllis and her husband moved to Cassville Missouri, where they owned and operated Stone House Gift Shop for 31 years. While in Cassville she was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Phyllis enjoyed camping, working at her shop, looking at antiques, and spending time with her family. Phyllis will be deeply missed by her husband, Walter of Muscatine; daughter, Jean Stumpf of Granger, IN; son, Daryl Henke of Muscatine; grandchildren Kevin and Kimberly of Granger, IN, Jennifer and Peter of Muscatine, five great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Evans and wife, Doris of Muscatine, John Evans and wife, Melody of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Vaughn and one sister, Betty.
