Description	:	Funeral services for Phyllis Wiederin, 87, will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, August 30, 2019 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Churdan with burial in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, west of Churdan. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Thursday at the church with a Vigil Service at 6:30 PM. Phyllis passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Phyllis, the daughter of Verlin and Mildred Blair, was born June 5, 1932 at Dayton, Iowa and attended and graduated Dayton High School in 1952. She attended college and then took a teaching position in Churdan in 1954 where she taught for three years. In 1957, she was married to Wilbur Wiederin and they made their home in Churdan where they raised four children. Later in life, Phyllis returned to teaching at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Fort Dodge. Phyllis was an active member of her church and its church groups. She was also active in the Churdan American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her three children; Mary (David), Mike (Lisa) and Joe (Denise); a son-in-law, Mick; eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul (Kathy); and three sisters-in-law, Etta Mae, Sherry and Wanda. She lost her husband, Wilbur, in 2001; a daughter, Sharon Towers, in 2015; and three brothers.
