Phyllis Marie Stewart was born June 18, 1942 at Estelline, SD to Floyd and Nellie (Almos) Stewart. Phyllis was confirmed at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church. Read More	Phyllis Marie Tolzin, 70 of Lake Preston, SD died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at her rural home near Lake Preston. Phyllis Marie Stewart was born June 18, 1942 at Estelline, SD to Floyd and Nellie (Almos) Stewart. Phyllis was confirmed at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church. She attended school in Lake Preston, SD and graduated in 1960. After graduating, she moved to Sioux Falls and worked at Brown Drug. Phyllis married Blaine Tolzin on February 9, 1963. They made their home and started a family on the farm east of Lake Preston. Phyllis was an active member of the Lake Preston Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Alter Guild. Her happiest moments were spent with family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and baker; her pies, lefsa and kringla, were among her families' favorites. If you happened to stop at her house at 12:00, dinner would always be ready. She loved to golf with her friends and enjoyed reunions with her brothers and sisters. She loved her home and gardening and took great pride in keeping them well cared for. She also loved sewing and has made many quilts and treasures for her children and grandchildren over the years. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Blaine and three children. Scott (Laura) Tolzin of DeSmet, SD, Mike (Jodi) Tolzin of Lake Preston and Dawn (Todd) Nye of Rapid City, SD; six grandchildren: Whitney, Taylor, Weston, Kori, Amanda and Evan; six siblings; Sheldon (Betty) Stewart of Brookings, SD, Joan (George) Kjellsen of Sisseton, SD, Peggy Cory of Covina, CA, Kenny (Jan) Stewart of Cedar, MN, Janice Koch of Mitchell, SD and Shari Serfoss of Hastings, MN; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother John. Funeral services for Mrs. Tolzin will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church in Lake Preston with Pastor Wanda McNeill officiating, burial will be in the Lake Preston City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the church and before services on Saturday. The Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel in Lake Preston is in charge of arrangements.
