Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Scotia United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bruce Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery . She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto F. Gebhardt, on June 22 1997. Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Richard Hackendahl of Hawaii and Madge and James Donovan of Brighton, Colorado; two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Jeanette Gebhardt and John and Rhonda Gebhardt. all of Scotia; a brother and sister-in-law, Shirley and Edward Lanka and Lola and Ed Wojtalewicz, all of St. Paul, Joan and Marvin Christensen of Wolbach, Loraine and George Wozniak of Evans, Colorado, and Kathryn and Emil Dubas of Fullerton. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren. She attended rural schools in Howard and Greeley counties. She graduated from Wolbach High School in 1949. On July 20 1951 she married Otto F. Gebhardt in Walbach. The couple lived in California while Otto was in the U.S. Marines. After his discharge, they returned to the Scotia area where they farmed. After her husband's death, Phyllis remained on the family farm until her death. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Scotia United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Memorials are suggested to the North Loup-Scotia Fire and Rescue Unit and the Scotia United Methodist Church. ___________________________________ Grand Island, Nebraska "Independent" Newspaper: The body of a 71-year-old Scotia woman was found Friday at the Davis Creek Reservoir near North Loup, Valley County Attorney Randy Cullers said. Cullers said a car belonging to Phyllis E. Gebhardt was found along with her body at the reservoir.Preliminary autopsy results indicate a possible drowning, but a final determination on the cause of death has not been made. According to a press release from Cullers, the discovery was made by two fishermen and a Nebraska Game and Parks conservation officer, who was on routine patrol in the area. An investigation was completed by area law enforcement, including several members of the Nebraska State Patrol, the Valley County Sheriff's Department, Nebraska Game and Parks conservation officers, and the Greeley County Sheriff's Department. Valley County Sheriff Larry Ronzzo and Nebraska State Patrol Communications Supervisor Craig Schoneberg each declined comment Saturday, referring all questions to Cullers. Cullers said Saturday that he would not release any additional information about the incident at that time. Gebhardt's son, John Gebhardt of Scotia, said his mother had been missing less than 12 hours before her body was discovered, but declined further comment. Davis Creek Reservoir is located five miles south of North Loup in Valley County.
