| Description | : | Born on Peche Island in the Detroit River. Son of Benjamin and Helen Casavant. He married twice. First marriage was to Helen Laforet daughter of Jean Baptiste and Therese Langlois 23 Nov. 1870 in Tecumseh. She died within a week of giving birth to their only child. His second marriage was to Julie Laforet daughter of Francois and Clemence Deguire. He was a fisherman all his life until his retirement in 1925 as a result of rheumatism. He had suffered a stroke a few months before he died of myocarditis. Pierre went totally deaf in his 20's. |
