Read More	Highland Recorder October 22, 1926 MYSTERY SURROUNDS DEATH OF YOUNG HEDRICK A jury of inquest called to inquire into the death of Pinckney Hedrick, a young man of the Highland-Pendleton border was not able to reach any definite conclusion, it is said. The young man, aged about 18, was a son of Henry Hedrick, and on the fatal night, Friday of last week, called at the home of his uncle Charles Hedrick, shortly after dark. After a short stay, he got up and went into the yard where he was found wounded and unconscious a moment later following the report of a gun shot. He lived a short time but did not regain consciousness, hence no clue as to the cause of death. We have not heard in detail, the result of the inquest held on the following day, but it is understood that the evidence was so inconclusive as to lead the officers to adjourn the hearing until an effort could he made to get additional information. While no known cause could he given to sustain the theory of suicide and while he was not known to have an enemy who might be suspicioned, was but little to strengthen the theory of suicide. Highland Recorder October 22, 1926 CRABBOTTOM NEWS Charles Pinkney Hedrick accidentally shot himself in the temple, living only a short time. He took the mail to his grandfather’s, Jim Hedrick and on his return home stopped at his uncle Charles Hedrick’s and there is where the accident occurred. Rev. Rice preached the funeral at the home of E. Hinkle’s, near which he was laid to rest. Pink, as they caller him will be missed in his home. He always had a smile for those he met.
