Description	:	Polly Anna Davis Heideman-Walton, 84, of Denver, died Wednesday, September 05, 2012, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Polly was born May 24, 1928, in Waverly, Iowa, at the Garner farm, to Henry S. and Grace A. (Milnes) Davis, the fifth child for this family at that time. She was baptized in her family home on October 18, 1931, by the Reverend Giles Sharpley of St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Waverly, Iowa. She moved many times with her family, mostly within Iowa. Read More	Polly Anna Davis Heideman-Walton, 84, of Denver, died Wednesday, September 05, 2012, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Polly was born May 24, 1928, in Waverly, Iowa, at the Garner farm, to Henry S. and Grace A. (Milnes) Davis, the fifth child for this family at that time. She was baptized in her family home on October 18, 1931, by the Reverend Giles Sharpley of St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Waverly, Iowa. She moved many times with her family, mostly within Iowa. In the summer of 1937, the family moved to a country home near Denver, Iowa, and she attended Jefferson #3 school for three years and then returned to Waverly. In January of 1942, her father made the move to San Francisco, California, to build ships in the shipyards for the war effort. Polly and her mother followed in February, 1943. Polly lived in San Francisco for two and one-half years. While there, she attended high school at Baloba and Lowell High Schools, worked in domestics, for a pattern company and for two banks: Wells Fargo and Bank of America. In 1945, she returned to Iowa, worked at Robb's Restaurant, Christie Convalescent Home, Rankin Seat Cover Factory and the 7-Up Company. She was confirmed in the faith on June 8, 1947, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Denver, Iowa, by the Reverend H.C. Schiffler. Her memory verse is Acts 2:47, "praising God and having the good will of all the people and day by day, the Lord added to their number those who were being saved." On October 26, 1947, Polly married Loyd A. Heideman of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Denver, Iowa. She lived all of her married life in the Denver area. Three children were born to this union: Judy Marlene (James) Finnessy on March 9, 1951, Sharon Jean (Gordon) Mueller on March 13, 1952, and Rodney Duane Heideman born prematurely on November 18, 1956. Rodney passed away on November 19, 1956. She attended the first class of adult education taught by Marie Buss in the St. Peter Lutheran Church and graduated with a GED diploma on June 3, 1971. She loved volunteering for the church, the American Legion and the Denver Sunset Home. She served in many offices of the ALCW as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Martha Circle, and was a member of that circle for more than twenty years. She taught Sunday School for ten years and acted as a substitute for another four years. She enjoyed working with Loyd on the farm, babysitting for working mothers, working as a seamstress for K&L Draperies, Varsity Cleaners and ServQuik Cleaners. She and Loyd also enjoyed traveling and entertaining senior citizens and shut-ins as a part of the Sac's Swingers musical group. She especially loved spending time with her family, quilting for the church, and documenting the family genealogy. Loyd passed away March 28, 1997, at the Denver Sunset Home of a heart attack. On October 22, 2000, Polly married Glenn Asher Walton at Messiah Lutheran Church in Janesville, Iowa. They were united in marriage by her brother, Pastor Ben Davis, and Pastor Beth Olsen. She and Glenn enjoyed twelve wonderful years of marriage. In December, 2011, Polly and Glenn moved to the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Walton, her daughters, Judy (James) Finnessy and Sharon (Gordon) Mueller, step-sons Craig (Debbie) Walton, Kim (Marty) Walton, grandchildren Aaron Mueller, Angeline (Mike) Kelly, Michael (Michelle) Finnessy, James (Jessica) Finnessy and Emily (Geoff) Niggeler, step grandchildren Randy (Megan) Walton, Nicholas Walton, Brandi (Matt) Archibald, great grandchildren Xander Kelly, Johnathan Finnessy, Nevin Niggeler and Cassandra Grace Finnessy, step great grandchildren Emma, Lydia, Nora and Ira Walton and Emily and Caitie Archibald, one brother, Pastor Ben (Loretta) Davis and one sister-in-law, Susan (Harold) Davis. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Loyd, a son, Rodney Duane Heideman, sister, Doris (Wendell) Heidemann, two infant sisters, Mary Marie and Bonnie Jean Davis, four brothers, Theodore, Harold, George and infant Thomas Davis, one sister-in-law, Colleen Davis, one brother-in-law, Wendell Heidemann, her parents, Henry and Grace Davis, and her step granddaughter, Brooke Walton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver with burial in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, at the Funeral Home in Denver and for an hour prior to services on Monday. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community or the Independence Senior Center
