Description	:	Mrs. O. Letson died at the home of her step-son, Jay Letson, at Cylinder Thursday night, October 25, after a severe illness of two weeks. For a period of a year she had been confined to the bed. Her illness was due to the infirmity of age. She was nearly ninety years of age. Funeral services were held in the M. E. church at Cylinder on Saturday. They were conducted by Rev. J. E. Brereton of this place assisted by Rev. Forster of Cylinder. The remains were interred in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery. Polly Anne Clarke was born in Ontario, Canada, on Dec. 6, 1828. She came to Iowa probably forty years ago and for a time made her home with her sister, Mrs. Rob't Moses. In 1889 she united in marriage with O. Letson who died nearly thirty years ago. For the past twelve years she made her home with her step son, Jay Letson at Cylinder. In her earlier years she was active, energetic and competent. She was intelligent and in her earlier years learned lessons of thrift, economy and frugality. She was a good Christian woman and was a member of the Congregational church for thirty-two years. She lived long and well and though death is always sad her death was timely. One brother, Rob't Clarke and other distant relatives reside in Canada. To the bereaved relatives we extend sympathy. [Published in Palo Alto Tribune, Oct. 31, 1917]
