Description	:	Mrs. Polly Protsman, died in Vevay, Ind, Nov. 13, 1889 at 2 o'clock a.m., aged 80 years, 7 months and 4 days. She was born April 9, 1809 at Chillicothe, Ohio. In 1814 she moved with her parents, William and Polly Campbell, to Florence, Switzerland county, Ind, where she lived until 1827. In 1827 she married William Protsman, and lived on a farm about 1 ½ miles north of Vevay for about six months, when they moved to a point opposite Warsaw, KY, where they lived for six years. About 1833 they moved to a farm about one mile north... Read More	Mrs. Polly Protsman, died in Vevay, Ind, Nov. 13, 1889 at 2 o'clock a.m., aged 80 years, 7 months and 4 days. She was born April 9, 1809 at Chillicothe, Ohio. In 1814 she moved with her parents, William and Polly Campbell, to Florence, Switzerland county, Ind, where she lived until 1827. In 1827 she married William Protsman, and lived on a farm about 1 ½ miles north of Vevay for about six months, when they moved to a point opposite Warsaw, KY, where they lived for six years. About 1833 they moved to a farm about one mile north of Vevay, where W.R. Protsman now resides, where she lived until 1866, when her husband died of cholera. Since that time she has lived with her children, most of the time in this county. The deceased was a mother of ten children seven of whom survive. The survivors are: Flora B. Morrison; E.H. Roop, Maria P. Scott; Alex Protsman; Charles Protsman and Fannie Hageman. Of a large family, at the time of her death she had only one brother in law, Hon. Ben L. Robinson, and one sister-in-law, the widow of James H. Campbell, living. She joined the M.E. Church when nine years of age and continued a member until death. W.R. Protsman has in his possession a "Class Paper" dated 1827 - Frederick Waldo, leader. Of the 21 names of the old pioneers of Methodism she has long been the last survivor and now she, too, has passed away. She was a good and useful woman.
