Description	:	Posie Wayne Whittington Jr. WHITTINGTON PILOT MOUNTAIN - Posie Wayne Whittington, Jr., age 64, of Pilot Mountain, NC passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 4, 1944 in Surry County to the late Posie Lee and Nannie Mae Jester Whittington. Mr. Whittington was self-employed as a mechanic and worked several other odd jobs. Read More	Posie Wayne Whittington Jr. WHITTINGTON PILOT MOUNTAIN - Posie Wayne Whittington, Jr., age 64, of Pilot Mountain, NC passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 4, 1944 in Surry County to the late Posie Lee and Nannie Mae Jester Whittington. Mr. Whittington was self-employed as a mechanic and worked several other odd jobs. Posie loved his Lord and his family. He was a devoted member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Wall Whittington of Pilot Mountain; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Tammy Whittington of Pilot Mountain and Terry and Stephanie Whittington of Westfield; two grandchildren, Madison Nicole Whittington and Olivia Grace Whittington; two sisters, Dorothy Jessup and Gracie Gibson both of Pilot Mountain; one sister-in-law, Ramona Whittington. Mr. Whittington was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Douglas Whittington. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2009 at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Ronnie Chamblin and Rev. Marty Sewell officiating, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive family and friends Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o John Shelton 2552 Old Hwy 52 S, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 or to a charity of your choice.
