Read More	Preston Chester Bryson, 92, Beatrice, Nebraska, died on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at Parkview Center, Beatrice, Nebraska. He was born on June 26, 1914, on a homestead north of Havre, Montana. When he was five years old the family moved to Chadron, Nebraska. He started working on farms and ranches when he was 12 years old. He graduated from Chadron High School in 1933. After graduating he worked on a ranch north of Rapid City, South Dakota, until enlisting in the Civilian Conservation Corps where he worked in the forest thinning trees, putting out forest fires, etc. He was married to Bernetta Pefferman for 47 years. He married Carrie Jurgens on February 12, 1983, at St. John Lutheran Church, Beatrice, Nebraska. He worked at Dempster Industries for over forty years. During WWII he helped start the shell plant making 90 millimeter shell casings. Dempsters worked three shifts during the war. He was set up man on one shift and supervisor. After the war he was foreman over the lathe department. In 1967 he became superintendent in the machine shop. He farmed west of Beatrice until he was 75. He moved to Beatrice. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, traveling, dancing, and country music. He visited nursing homes frequently. Survivors: daughters, Leora Kelley of Lincoln, Nebraska, Delores Lassley and husband, Merle, of Lincoln, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren, Steve Kelley and wife, Pam, of Beatrice, Nebraska, Owen Kelley and wife, Julie, of rural Pender, Nebraska, Cindy Belt and husband, Dennis, of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Dan Lassley and wife, Terri, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Jeff Lassley and wife, Sandra, of Omaha, Nebraska, Kim Kramer and husband, Lew, of Debary, Florida, Terry Wentworth of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ray Kelley and wife, Heidi, of Fallon, Nevada; 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death: second wife, Carrie (Harms) (Jurgens) Bryson (2002); first wife, Bernetta (Pefferman) Bryson (1982); parents, Albert and Margaret (Hanson) Bryson; brother, Samuel Bryson. Funeral service: 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 20, 2006, at St. John Lutheran Church, 701 North 6th Street, Beatrice, Nebraska. Officiating: Pastor David P. Kramer and Pastor Joann Kramer. Burial: Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, Nebraska. Visitation: Noon until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday; family will greet friends on Sunday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.; and at the church one hour preceding services on Monday.
