Description	:	Georgetown Times August 6, 1962 Preston Samuel Harper, 45, laboratory technician of 2615 Highmarket St. died at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital Saturday. He had been in ill health for six months and seriously ill for two days. Funeral services were held from the Wayne Methodist Church Sunday. Officiating were the Rev. Ben Barnes and the Rev. P. G. Curry, pastor of the Duncan Memorial Methodist Church. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery Annex Cemetery, Mayer Funeral Home was in charge. Mr. Harper was born in Horry County, Jan 10, 1917, and was the son of the late Brooster T. Harper and Mrs. Ervinia Ingram Harper. He was reared and spent most of his life in Conway and attended the schools of that area. He moved to Georgetown in 1955, and since that time had been employed by the International Paper Company as a laboratory technician. He was a member of the Wayne Methodist Church and a veteran of World War Two. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edith Gore Harper of the home; a son Preston Samuel Harper Jr. of Georgetown; a daughter Marilyn Harper, also of Georgetown; his mother and a brother Joe S. Harper of Columbia.
