DEATHS - In this town, 11th inst., after a distressing sickness of 11 weeks, Mrs. Priscilla M. Thomas, formerly of Stow, Vt., aged 38. McAllaster, aged 62. Mrs. McAllaster was a resident of Stow, Vt. She left home to visit a sick daughter, (Mrs. Thomas) in Lowell. By the kindness of friends she returned with her daughter to this town, whose death closed a painful sickness, about a fortnight previous to her own. The fatigue and anxiety occasioned by attending her daughter, hastened disease, and the hopes of seeing home, were quickly (blasted). As death approached, she observed, she had hoped God would permit her to see her family again, - but still if it was His will to take her to his heavenly home, she was ready to go. The deceased had been a follower of Christ for nearly forty years. Her pilgrimage had been marked with every variety of trial and affliction, so that she was eminently known as a christian of devotion and faith. In the severest trouble, she made prayer her resort, - in the most perplexing circumstances, God's Word was her guide. Her experience was great; and all felt, while she was a mother, she was as equally true a teacher in Israel. In the hour of death, as she reclined upon the arm of a kind sister, her heart was fixed, she gave assurance that she had a hope, that reacheth within the veil whither her Forerunner had gone. - Prts. in N.
