Grass passed away Tuesday of this week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo Mayfield, north of Shelton, aged 72 years Deceased had been an invalid for the past seven years, she having suffered a paralytic stroke at that time from which she never fully recovered. Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon from the Christian Church of Cameron with Rev. Carter of Shelton preaching the sermon. Interment will be in the Cameron Cemetery. Fred Miller, Will Thompson, D.C. Crosser, John Behr, Will Park and Billie Wichersham acting as pallbearers. Mrs. Grass was born in Pike Co, IL May 18, 1844 where she grew to womanhood. She was married to William Clanton in May 1863 and to the union five children were born, 3 of whom survive, Chas and Henry Clanton of Wood River and Mrs. Mayfield of Shelton. Her husband died in 1874. In 1878 she united in marriage with Daniel Grass and with him and her children came to Cameron, NE, where Mr. Grass died in 1884. The deceased has made her home in the vicinity with her children ever since coming to Nebraska and has ever been known as a woman of many fine qualities. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, having joined the congregation thirty years ago and was of that faith at the time of her demise.
