Description	:	Died, at her home in Agricola, Friday, April 13, T.W. Truitt, aged 61 years, 6 months, 19 days. Priscilla Stevenson was born Sept. 24, 1838 in Greenup County, Kentucky. She joined the M.E. church when 16 years old, and was a consistent member of it when she died. Her first husband was Leonard Waring, to whom she was married March 7, 1855, but Mr. Waring only lived a few years, dying in Jan. 1859. He left one son, Leonard W. Waring, now of Agricola, Kansas. Priscilla Stevenson was born Sept. 24, 1838 in Greenup County, Kentucky. She joined the M.E. church when 16 years old, and was a consistent member of it when she died. Her first husband was Leonard Waring, to whom she was married March 7, 1855, but Mr. Waring only lived a few years, dying in Jan. 1859. He left one son, Leonard W. Waring, now of Agricola, Kansas. In 1862 Mrs. Waring married Thos. W. Truitt and to them were born eight children, of whom seven survive. In 1865, Brother and Sister Truitt moved to Adams County, Illinois, and from there to Kansas in October 1869. Ever since their home has been in Rock Creek Township, Coffey County, Kansas, except one year which they spent in Lyon County, Kansas. Sister Truitt had been in poor health for about two years, but until one week before her death had continued to take part in social duties and household labors. On Monday, April 9th, however, she found herself worse and was confined to bed. The following Wednesday evening about six o’clock she was taken with a very violent pain and suffered continually until the end. She was conscious until almost the last and recognized all her loving children as they gathered around her to bid her farewell. About 7 o’clock Friday evening she passed away. Her funeral sermon was preached in the M.E. church, Agricola, on the morning of Easter Sunday, and her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery nearby. Sister Truitt was a good woman, a faithful wife, a kind mother, a kind mother, a good neighbor, a true friend, a hospitable hostess, and a devoted Christian. Her circle of acquaintance was large, and she was loved and respected by all who knew her. Her loss will be heavily felt in the church in Agricola, but her loss will fall most sorely on her bereaved companion and her sorrowing children.
