Description	:	Augburn Martin was killed in action at Chateau Thierry, June 12, 1918. He was the son of P.J. Martin. Enlisted 20 Jul 1917 in 55th Co, 5th Regiment, Marine Corps which united with the 2nd Division ; he was sent by superior officers with others on 6 missions and three times returned alone to report. "The chivalry of the Marine in the notable battle in which young Martin lost his life will challenge the admiration of the world so long as brave men may live in it."
