Description | : | Calvin Peter Morgan was born in Ohio, the son of Peter Piper Morgan and Rebecca Flowers. He was the 10th child of 13 or 14 children. By 1850 his family was living in Springfield Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. By 1860 they had moved to Putnam in Muskingum County. At the age of 15 years, on June 4, 1862, he volunteered for army service along with 4 of his brothers, and after serving 3 months in Company G, 88th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry he was honorably discharged from that regiment.
