There is a George "Athous" m the widow Mary Tutwiller in Rockingham Co in 1804, no ages or family info given, could this be a brother, son, or nephew of Emera??) So, Emera was not "kidnapped for a ship's mate", nor was he the "first and only Altizer to come to the US", and probably not "every US Altizer descends from Emera", as there were at least 3 brothers. There is much new information that has surfaced, thanks to internet records and releases of newly discovered information. Much of what has previously been recorded has been mistaken due to incomplete or missing records, erred assumptions, or family stories handed down that have proven to be false.
