Droz, an old citizen of this city, dropped dead from heart disease, at his home last Tuesday afternoon. He was past seventy years of age and born in Switzerland. Coming to this country at the age of 21 he became thoroughly Americanized and at the beginning of the civil war enlisted for three years in the 13th Iowa. He was a member of Siverd Post and had the respect and esteem of his old comrades and our citizens generally. He was a good citizen and kind husband and father. The funeral services were held at the M.E. Church, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, under the direction of the members of the G.A.R. (transcribed by Judy Mayfield)
