Keller To Arrive Wednesday The body of Pvt. Glenn W. “Swede” Keller, above, husband of Mrs. Norma Keller of 226 North Moore street, will arrive in Ottumwa at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Burlington railroad station and will be taken to the Johnson funeral chapel. Private Keller was killed in action October 3, 1944, near Isenbruch, Germany. He was 24 years old at the time. The son of Roy and Violet Keller, he was born in Mt. Pleasant September 28, 1920, and had been a resident of Ottumwa most of his life. He entered service with the Ottumwa national guard cavalry troop in January, 1941, taking his basic training at Camp Bowie, Texas. He went to England with the unit in 1944, fighting with the First army through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was killed in battle while taking part in the capture of Isenbruch. Surviving are his wife, Norma; one daughter, Sharon Lynn, at home; his parents, Mrs. Violet Gilroy of Ottumwa and Roy Keller of Grand River; his stepfather, Charles Gilroy of Ottumwa; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Smith of Ottumwa and Elmer Keller of Knox City, Mo. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of Dr. Malvin H. Lundeen of the First Lutheran church. Military graveside services will be held in the Shaul cemetery in charge of members of the V.F.W. Walter B. Schaefer post No. 775. Members of the O.B. Nelson post No. 3 of the American Legion will serve as pallbearers.
